Meet our team

Don Medagama
Partner

Don has been an integral member of RLA since May 2012. He brings with him a wealth of accounting experience, gained both in Australia and internationally.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, majoring in Accounting from Griffith University and also holds Registration as a Tax Agent.

He qualified as a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) in 2010 and became a Partner of RLA in 2022.

Don has extensive experience in helping small and medium-sized businesses. He takes a practical approach to ensure his clients meet their obligations and effectively reduce their tax burden.

During his free time, Don enjoys travelling and engaging in sports activities.

Basheera Khatree
Partner

Basheera joined RLA in 2021 and brought with her a wealth of expertise to the team.
Basheera has encountered a diverse range of business scenarios, enabling her to cultivate exceptional problem-solving skills. She demonstrates a keen ability to analyze intricate financial data to unveil hidden patterns and growth opportunities that might otherwise remain unnoticed.

Basheera holds a Bachelor of Business degree, specializing in Accounting and Finance, from QUT.
She is a qualified Chartered Accountant, showcasing her proficiency in tackling complex taxation and accounting issues.
Her relentless drive to solve problems and assist businesses in their day-to-day growth sets her apart.
Outside of her professional life at RLA, Basheera enjoys camping and outdoor activities.

Roz Lahey
Senior Consultant
Roz founded RLA in 2005, which has developed into a successful practice from client growth based solely on referrals from satisfied clients. She prides herself on being a Fellow of the National Tax and Accountants Association, a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants, holds Registration as a Tax Agent and has become a Commissioner for Declarations. Roz is passionate about servicing her clients with great emphasis on quality and sound advice while maintaining high ethical standards. She has worked with many of her clients for more than thirty years, and regards many of them as friends – having taken such a long journey together.

Tracey Gow
Bookkeeper

Tracey has worked with Roz for more than 30 years. Her knowledge of the client base and Australian Taxation Office (ATO) administration is an asset to the business.

Tracey’s long-standing relationship with RLA means she has built enormous trust and confidence with our clients. She is responsible for all the bookkeeping and efficient running of the office.

When Tracey is not at work, she enjoys her seven grandsons.

Claire Lam
Accountant

Claire joined RLA in 2023 as a qualified CPA. She brings valuable insights and strong skills to the team.

Claire’s careful analysis and attention to detail help her provide useful solutions for clients in various areas of accounting, including financial reporting and tax compliance. She stays updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure she delivers the best service.

Outside of her work at RLA, Claire loves camping and travelling with family and friends.

Tessa Taylor-Fox
Office Administrator

As the Office Administrator, Tessa is the first person you will talk to when you call or walk into the office. Her friendly and easy-going nature shines through in all interactions with our clients.

Tessa is an invaluable part of the RLA team as the first voice and face our clients have contact with. She will always share a laugh and good humour to have everyone feel at home within our family like environment.
